Social standards
BSCI – The aim of these standards is to define ethical and social values for our employees, buyers, suppliers, investors and community with which we perform business, and to honor them and focus on dedication toward preserving human rights. Standards refer to all our business operations that are supplemented pursuant to the local legal requirements.
GOTS Certificate (Global Organic Textile Standard)
Pursuant to the contemporary lifestyle, and aiming toward ecological and social awareness, rules and guidelines have been developed for “healthy” clothing. As the company that strives to harmonize its business with the ecological and social standards, Alma Ras acknowledged the importance of “healthy” dressing and adjusted its future business in this direction. All processes have contributed to awarding Alma Ras one of the most important certificates in the textile industry. GOTS is a stern volunteer global standard for complete post-harvest processing (including weaving, knitting, dyeing and production) of clothes made of certified organic fibers (such as organic cotton and organic wool), and it includes ecological and social criteria.

Eco Projects
For two subsequent years, we have been issuing public calls for eco projects and are planning to turn this idea into a long-term venture. The aim of these projects is to support ideas that will be beneficial for the company, and encourage other participants in the process to directly contribute to protection and preservation of the environment. Solar Panels
Guided by self-sustainability principles – sustainable development, and internal and external requirements for the increase of the energy efficiency as well as based on the future development and market competitiveness, we installed and have started implementing photovoltaic panels. By introducing the renewable sources as replacement, we will not only decrease the annual use of electricity, but we will also have a positive effect on ecological factors and nature conservation. The project manager in this project was Alli Agbar Mašić, an employee of the company Alma Ras, who applied for the internal tender titled “Innovations and Savings” with the idea to build solar power plants. This investment cost over KM 800,000. The power plants will produce approximately 622,311.00 kWh of power annually, which means that the renewable power sources will be used to produce more than 30% of our total use of electricity. The planned decrease of CO2 emission amounts to approximately 580 t/annually for both locations, which equals to planting 13,000 tree seedlings.
Cooperation with Celebrities – Sustainable Business Management
A project we are especially proud of is the wonderful story that had a sustainable aspect with the support of Maëlys de Rudder Tanović, with whom we aided a small business, a craft that is in threat of being forgotten and all through the promotion of endemic, endangered natural wealth in BiH. We have rounded this story with afforestation of Picea spruce that we would like to leave for the future generations. Sustainability is the long term direction in all aspects of business management of the company Alma Ras because we would like to be responsible toward the society and community and always offer higher value to our consumers.
Employees
The slogan “Enjoyable Touch” is a message that relates to our brand Alma Ras, but also represents a guideline for our conduct toward employees, partners and consumers resulting in several campaigns that marked and commemorated this year. Special attention was drawn to the story “Sewn with Love” in which we introduced our buyers to our employees and their life stories that guide them through the work they perform. Other stories concerning the employees that also attracted the attention of our readers are the stories in which the satisfied employees talked about the success they realized inside the company, the progress they made and everything they are especially thankful for in the organization.
